TAMWORTH CUP CARNIVAL UNDERWAY
The Tamworth Cup Carnival kicks off this Saturday with three outstanding heats of the GRNSW Country Challenge Series over the 457 metres.

The $4,000 to the winner series set to culminate on Saturday May 3 has attracted some quality greyhounds including the return of last years Tamworth Cup winner Kingsbrae Di who is a winner of 40 races including four wins from as many outings at Tamworth.

The first heat sees outstanding sprinter Sins Spirit take part against a strong line-up of sprinters including the lightly raced yet talented Colunder and experienced ex-Victorian sprinter Nistevo who has run some slick times at both the Metropolitan and Provincial tracks in Victoria.

The second run-off should see Kingsbrae Di start a short priced favourite but is sure to get some stiff opposition from exciting sprinter Run Mickey Run and old campaigner Cross Me Not.

The third and final heat has attracted some quality runners including Coonamble Country Challenge winner Montana Belle who is a winner of eight from 21 starts. Exceptionally bred by Big Daddy Cool from On This Fold she will more than likely start favourite from box seven.

Her main opposition looks to come from the talented Mumstop Stanley and newly acquired Special Cecil who is well boxed and has a last start second at Wentworth Park to his credit.

Two heats of the Mighty Maiden will also be staged with the final to be run on a bumper Wednesday night meeting on April 30.

As is usual there will be full bookmaker facilities over the three days of racing with bar and catering facilities available.

Sure to be trackside on Saturday May 3 with plenty of prizes to be run and plenty of activities during the afternoon.
