GAMBLE PAYS OFF IN MEGA MAIDEN
GAMBLE PAYS OFF IN MEGA MAIDEN
Outstanding youngster Silent Gamble used the converted rails box to perfection with an all the way win in the $15,000 to the winner Josh Brown Mega Maiden Memorial on Friday. The fawn dog was a strong favorite in betting and gave his supporters no cause for concern with a fine display of front running. Silent Gamble exited the traps brilliantly and held the rails advantage to the corner while the other fancied rivals Elite Style and Ronray Express found bother. Down the back straight Silent Gamble set up a break with the Bradley Northfield trained Go Wild Me right on his tail. However in the run to the finish the son of Pure Octane had too much in hand and won comfortably by ¾ of a length on a solid 30.18. Go Wild Me battled on gamely for second and defiantly has a strong future and sentimental favorite Elite Style who is owned by the Brown Family was a smashing run to be a further 2 ¼ lengths away in third. All of the youngsters that completed in the series will now hope to have similar racetrack success as previous runners Jinderra Flame, Mandagery Man, Bit Chilli, Kumar Bale and outstanding current local top grade dogs Miss Elly Mint and Lochinvar Polo. Silent Gamble will now be set for further feature events possibly including the $50,000 to the winner Group 1 National Derby that will be held for the first time at the Gardens early next year along with the $50,000 to the winner Group 1 National Futurity. The NCA are grateful to the Brown family for giving The Gardens an opportunity to honor a wonderful young man in Josh Brown. The NCA would like to thank all of the participants in the series and wish all of the runners the best of luck in their future careers. Sean Sweeney Racing Manager The Gardens |
