SURFING FUN AT THE GARDENS

The NSW National Coursing Association in conjunction with The Hunter Surf Lifesaving Association are proud to announce the upcoming annual Hunter Surf Lifesaving Race Day to be held at The Gardens on Friday the 24th of April 2009.

The NCA is extremely excited at the opportunity to acknowledge the wonderful work that is carried out by the Hunter Surf Life Saving Clubs and hopes that it can raise some considerable funds to help the local clubs to keep our coastlines safe and fun.

Surf life saving is written into Australian history. From modest beginnings surf lifesaving now has more than 80,000 members in more than 260 clubs around Australia.

In the Hunter 13 separate clubs combine to make our beaches some of the safest in the world. The Hunter Surf Life Saving Association includes clubs from as far north as Hawks Nest and as far south as Catherine Hill Bay and all clubs will be represented at The Gardens.
The day will include a Welcome Presentation by NCA President Murray Nicol followed by Club Parades involving all the participating clubs with representatives from Life Members to Under 8’s to Masters. The major fundraiser held on the day will be a raffle with five separate prizes available. A visit by the Westpac Helicopter will also be a feature of the day with VIPs being picked up by the Helicopter after race five.

The Gardens Greyhound and Sporting complex is proud to be supporting a fantastic organization in the Hunter Surf Life Saving Association. The Gardens are excited to have the Surf Clubs involved in greyhound racing and we hope that the participants of the industry will get behind the fundraisers and help the clubs to continue their wonderful work throughout our region.

So to be part of an exciting afternoon of racing be at The Gardens - Newcastle on Friday April 24.

Gates open at 2.30pm with Adults $7 and Pensioners $4.
